Sweet Chariot Tours is proud to celebrate the rich tapestry of Nashville’s Black culture and history through immersive and enlightening tours. Our mission is to illuminate the contributions and achievements of North Nashville’s Black community, offering a unique blend of music, history, cuisine, and spirits.
Founded by a North Nashville native with a deep passion for cultural preservation, Sweet Chariot Tours was born out of a desire to keep Fisk University and Jefferson Street Sound Museum open, while keeping the memory of Jefferson Street alive amidst the waves of gentrification.
We are dedicated to showcasing the vibrant heritage of North Nashville and beyond, preserving the essence of these and other cherished cutural landmarks.
Our vision is one which celebrates North Nashville’s musical legacy by offering immersive experiences through tours of historical landmarks, museums, HBCUs, and local restaurants. This is intended to provide a deeper understanding of Nashville's Black cultural heritage, creating a lasting impact in our community -- and beyond.
In addition, we strive to support current and prospective HBCU students by providing scholarships and job opportunities, ensuring that the next generation is equipped to preserve our timeless heritage.
Embark on a journey with Sweet Chariot Tours and discover the soul of Nashville’s Black excellence.
Whether you're a history buff, a music lover, a foodie, or simply curious, our tours offer something for everyone. Come sip, savor, and sound your way through an unforgettable cultural experience!
